Description
DDSC General Assembly 2026, hosted by Corti
Once a year, the Danish Data Science Community gets together to look back on the year, look ahead, and every two years we choose who will lead the community next. This year we're meeting at Corti in Copenhagen for an evening with a keynote, the general assembly, and time to network. Everyone is welcome.
What's on
- Keynote by Corti. Corti is a Copenhagen-based company that builds clinical-grade AI for healthcare, including speech recognition, clinical documentation and agentic workflows used by health systems in Europe and the US.
- The general assembly. The board reports on the year, covering meetups, committees and DDSC's open-source projects. We'll also vote on any proposals that have come in.
- Board election. [X] seats are up for election. If you want to help shape the Danish data science scene, this is your chance (see below).
- Networking. Food, drinks and conversation with data scientists, ML engineers, researchers and students from across Denmark.
- …and more
Programme
16:00 - 20:00. Full details are TBD. Food and drinks are free, courtesy of Corti 👏

📅 30 October 2026

What does the board member role involve?
Board members serve a 2 year term. The board has historically met 6-12 times per year, and the new board can set their own cadence. The current board recommends that each board member is assigned a specific task, and the coming board is encouraged to maintain DDSC's focus on our 3 purposes set out in the articles of association:
- Creating interesting data science and AI-related events throughout Denmark, like our mini meet up series or CAMeLS meetings (Copenhagen Advanced Machine Learning Study Group).
- Maintaining DDSC's important role in the open source space. For instance, we have supplied free compute to data science projects with Nvidia and Arrow, trained language models, created training data and written articles about the topic.
- Using DDSC's voice for good, like writing pieces for Ingeniøren about important topics like gender equality and sustainability, and maintaining our Slack community, LinkedIn page and newsletter
Thinking of running for the board? Please let us know by registering through this form. It will help us plan the vote and we will keep you updated as we approach the general assembly.
The board has 8 seats. At the most recent election in 2024, we had 16 candidates.
If you are thinking of running for the board and have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to [email protected] or reach out to any of the current board members (see overview on the website).
Board members must be DDSC members living in Denmark, Skåne or Schleswig-Holstein.
A big thank you to Corti for hosting us!
